 On the occasion of the commencement of East Asian Football Championship 2008 Final Competition and EAFF Women’s Football Championship 2008 Final Competition in Chongqing, China, on behalf of East Asian Football Federation, I’d like to express my sincerest congratulations.EAFC and EWFC are the top-leveled competitions held by EAFF which are enjoying widespread high reputation. These two events are taking up very important role in promoting the exchange and cooperation in this region and are crucial to the development of East Asian football. During the Play-offs and Preliminary Competitions of EAFC and EWFC 2008, all the participating teams have showed us dramatic technique and tactic as well as good fair play ethics. I sincerely hope that the men’s and women’s teams from China, Japan, DPR Korea and Korea Republic who are participating in the Final Competitions can give us a high-level performance with not only good football skill but also perfect sporting spirit of professional football. I would also like to express my thanks to the host, the participating associations, the official sponsors as well as the friends from Media for their hard work and contribution to the success of these two championships.
