Match Review:
Despite not being the favourite in the match, the home team Korea Republic initially took the lead. However, as the game went on, the DPRK team's full potential began to show. Korea Republic's tactics made the match difficult at first for DPR Korea, utilizing Shim Seo-yeon as a sweeper, and not allowing a chance to shoot. Backed by the defense, Kim Soo-yun's left-foot shoot from scrimmage scored the first goal, 26 minutes into the first half. It had seemed as if the head coach Yoon Dukyeo's tactics were the key to victory. The DPRK team, however, proved itself a formidable opponent. Taking on from a mid-range shoot from Ra Un-sim, 36 minutes first half, Ho Un-byol scored an equalizer. A minute later, a bold heading shoot aided by a cross from Kim Su-gyong reversed the match at 2-1 for DPRK. Having lost control of the game, the Korea Republic team launched a full-on attack with Ji So-yun but the attack ended in vain. Today's monumental match between the North and South ended in a 2-1 victory for the DPRK team.
Match Star: Ho Un-byol
Ho Un-byol ran wild despite her role as a defender and dramatically saved her team. Her impressive equalizer from a scrimmage 36 minutes first half, when DPRK was losing 0-1, was followed by another stunning heading goal that reversed the match. The Korea Republic team, who were too busy with strikers like Ra Un-Sim, was defeated by an unexpected feat of a defender.
Match Review:
3-3 is evidently an exciting scoreboard. It was China PR team who initially took the lead, from a successful penalty kick four minutes first half by the midfielder Wang Yongpo. However, Japan's counterattack followed to reverse the game. From a corner-kick induced scrimmage, the Defender Yuzo Kurihara threw his body for an equalizer. Then the striker Yoichiro Kakitani's impressive assist and goal upturned the game to 3-1. It was as if China's 1-5 nightmare from Thailand was back. However, China's resiliency rebalanced the game to a tie. China chased up with Wang Yongpo's panelty kick 36 minutes second half, and the last- four-minute substitute Sun Ke's bombardment scored the equalizer. Japan slipped from its track to victory and China PR cheered for their impressive reversal.
Match Star: Yoichiro Kakitani
Once evaluated higher than Shinji Kagawa(Manchester United), the striker Yoichiro Kakitani pushed China to the precipice of defeat. 13 minute second half, he reversed the game with an outstanding heading shoot and minutes later assisted Kudo with a penetrating pass. Although the team didn't win, his performance makes him today’s match star.
