SOUTH CHINA claim their 3rd consecutive title: Hong Kong-China Football First Division
The Hong-Kong Football first division, the oldest professional league in Asia, wrapped up its 08/09 season in May. SOUTH CHINA claimed their 3rd consecutive title with a record of 19 wins, 4 draws, 1 loss and an impressive 73 goals for and a mere 11 goals against which sums up their dominance. In 2nd place with 17 wins, 5 draws, 2 losses was KITCHEE. Golden boot was SOUTH CHINA FW DETINHO and FW GIOVAANE ALVES da Silva (CONVOY SUN HEI) who each scored 18 goals and shared the award.
