3rd placed SAN FRECE HIROSHIMA win four in a row: J-League Round 25
Round 25 of the J-League was played on the 12th and 13th.
The clash between the two teams separated by 7 points at the top of the table, KASHIMAA ANTLERS and KAWASAKI FRONTALE, was called off in the 74th minute and later postponed due to heavy rain after 2 goals from DPR Korea national team FW JONG Tae Se had given KAWASAKI a 3-1 lead. However the match will be resumed from the 74th minute (scheduled for October 7).
3rd placed SAN FRECE HIROSHIMA have won four consecutive matches for the first time this season. Playing against YOKOHAMA F MARINOS they opened the scoring in the 26th minute through MF KASHIWAGI Yosuke’s right footed long distance shot. With the scores tied at 1-1 in the 35th minute Bulgarian DF Ilian STOYANOV struck directly from a FK. In the 46th minute KASHIWAGA scored again. HIROSHIMA protected this lead to win 3-2.
4th placed SHIMIZU S PULSE played OMIYA ARDIJA. In the 4th minute FW Frode JOHNSEN scored to give them a 1-0 win and that is now 10 league matches unbeaten for them. Also 5th placed GAMBA OSAKA were led by former Japan national team MF FUTAGAWA Takahiro’s 2 goals and beat VISSEL KOBE 3-2.
Elsewhere, 2007 AFC Champions League winners URAWA REDS downed MONTEDIO YAMAGATA to halt a 7 game losing slide. ALBIREX NIIGATA beat JEF UNITED CHIBA 1-0 to claim their first victory in 8 matches.
