Champions SOUTH CHINA continue where they left off: Hong Kong 1st Division Round 1

Hong Kong’s top league, the bma 1st Division Football League, kicked off its 2009-10 season on the 6th.

SOUTH CHINA, aiming for a fourth consecutive title, played newly promoted TAI CHUNG. In the 18th minute Hong Kong-China national team MF KWOK Kin Pong’s goal opened the scoring before FW LEANDRO CARRIJO SILVA scored in the 43rd and 73rd minutes to make it 3-0. SOUTH CHINA added another goal in the 76th minute to cap a 4-0 victory and begin this season’s campaign with a win.
Last season’s runners up KITCHEE beat HAPPY VALLEY 4-0. Last season’s 3rd placed finishers CITIZEN drew 2-2 with NT REALTY WOFOO TAI PO.

The Round 1 match results were as below:
SOUTH CHINA 4-0 TAI CHUNG
HAPPY VALLEY 0-4 KITCHEE
NT REALTY WOFOO TAI PO 2-2 CITIZEN
FOURWAY RANGERS 1-0 SHATIN
TSW PEGASUS postponed SUN HEI

TUEN MUN PROGOAL had a bye this round.
