Captain of Korea Rep, he was named MVP of the 2008 East Asian Football Championship Finals. He plays in the mid field and has the nickname ”the vacuum cleaner” due to his ability to clean up for his team on defense. Helped his team, make it to the quarter finals of the FIFA 2002 World Cup and at the 2006 World Cup he played in 3 matches on his way to 81 international appearances for his country (as of March 2008).
