Korea Republic men’s U-17 national team suffered three straight defeats at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup as they bowed out of the group stage.
Byun Sunghwan’s side lost 2-1 against Burkina Faso in their final Group E match in Bandung, Indonesia on Saturday. Having already suffered defeats against the United States (3-1) and France (1-0), the Taegeuk Warriors finished on the bottom of their group.
In fact, Korea Republic’s hopes of reaching the round of 16 had been dashed before the final group game against the Africans, with Mexico’s win over New Zealand in Group F securing the knockout phase berths for a quartet of third-place teams: Uzbekistan, Iran, Japan and Venezuela. .....
