FIFA’s Technical Study Group (TSG) has published its report on the recent FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan, lauding the standard of attacking play while identifying key areas for improvement. Read the full FIFA TSG Report on Jordan 2016 .
There was especially high praise for winners Korea DPR and runners-up Japan, both of whom were described as having “distinguished themselves through their attack-minded play”. As the report states: “Japan and Korea DPR perfectly mastered their 4-4-2 systems, which demanded a good deal of movement off the ball, the involvement of the wide players in attack, the constant positioning of midfielders in free space, the complementary play of two forwards, as well as a solid foundation of combination play and passing in the channels and in the small gaps in the opposition defence.”....
