SHIN Taeyong, the manager of Korea Republic National Football Team, at the press conference hel on May 14, announced 28 players for FIFA World Cup Russia 2018. Without surprise, SON Heungmin, KI Sungyueng, KWON Changhoon, KIM Shinwook, LEE Jaesung, and LEE Keunho were included in the team. SHIN called in additional 5 players to keep the competition running inside the team. The final 23 men will be announced right before the team fly to Austria on June 3.

3 surprising names were included in the team. It is LEE Seungwoo’s first time to be in the national team. The roster is not finalized so he cannot be guaranteed a spot in the World Cup yet. OH Bansuk and MOON Seonmin are also wearing the red jersey for their first time.

An injured defender, KIM Jinsu was also called in. His ticket to the World Cup depends on the speed of his recovery. Another injured defender, KIM Minjae couldn’t be with his teammates for this World Cup.

The national team will start training on May 21. Two international friendlies are scheduled on May 28 and June 1 against ‘Honduras’ and ‘Bosnia and Herzegovina’ respectively. Then the team will fly to Austria to play two more international friendlies against Bolivia and Senegal. After the team is warmed up enough, they will go to Russia for the real matches against Sweden, Mexico and Germany. .....
