香港足球總會宣佈，與泰國足球總會達成協議，香港足球代表隊將於2018年10月11日（星期四）主場出擊，與泰國國家隊進行國際友誼賽，以備戰11月舉行的EAFF E-1 東亞足球錦標賽2019第二圈賽事。
香港足球代表隊行政經理廖俊輝先生表示：
「友賽目的為備戰11月EAFF E-1 東亞足球錦標賽2019第二圈，此時泰國國家隊亦有興趣約戰，加上與對方作賽能收練兵之效，因而決定與泰國進行熱身賽。」.....
