Korea Republic will face teams from the Middle East in the final round of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The official draw for the final group stage took place at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday. As the continent’s fourth ranked team according to the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking as of June, Korea Republic were allocated in Pot 2 along with Australia. Paulo Bento’s side were then pitted against Iran, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon in Group A, whilst Japan, Australia, China PR, Oman and Vietnam were drawn in Group B.
The final round of qualifying consists of two groups of six teams apiece, with each side playing ten matches on a home-and-away basis from September. .....
