Suwon: Korea Republic women’s national team icon Ji So-yun will play club football in her homeland for the first time in her glittering career after her move to Suwon FC was confirmed on Tuesday.

A six-time FA Women’s Super League champion with Chelsea, Ji, 31, will join the club midway through their 2022 WK League campaign, where they will look to challenge title holders Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels for domestic supremacy.

The signing is a major coup for the WK League as a whole, with Korea Republic’s record goal scorer and most recognised women’s footballer star to be on show to a domestic audience on a weekly basis for the first time. .....
