Hong Kong: Wuhan Three Towns were crowned the new champions of the Chinese Super League at the end of their first season in China PR’s top division as they edged out strong competition from Shandong Taishan, whose title defence fell just short.

Frontrunners Melbourne City, Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners all recorded wins in Australia, but it is defending Premiers City who continue to lead the pack with two matches in hand.

China PR: Three Towns claim their first-ever title

Wuhan Three Towns created history this week in China PR by pipping Shandong Taishan to emerge champions of the Chinese Super League. Newly promoted Three Towns and defending champions Shandong were tied on 78 points after the final matchday, but it was the former who clinched their first major title on goal difference.
