Andersen guided Hong Kong back into the AFC Asian Cup™ for the first time since 1968, with the East Asian side to meet Islamic Republic of Iran, UNited Arab Emirates and Palestine in Group C.
“Mr Andersen was first appointed as head coach on December 13, 2021. With his rich experience as a player and a coach, he introduced a high-pressing and more aggressive style of playing into the Hong Kong team,” said the HKFA.
“Overcoming obstacles brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, he successfully led our team to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup™ for the first time in more than 50 years.” .....
