The AFC’s biannual tournament features 16 participating teams in the group stage, where four teams in each group compete for two places in order to advance to the knockout phase. Korea Republic have been pitted against Japan, Syria and Thailand in Group D: the Taegeuk Warriors are set to open their campaign against Syria on 14 February, before taking on Thailand three days later and then Japan on 20 February.
This tournament also acts as a qualifying competition for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile in September, where four tickets are available for Asian teams. Korea Republic are the most successful team in the continental finals, having claimed no fewer than 12 titles, including the latest win at the 2012 edition, at this age level. Most recently, they reached the last four at the tournament held in Uzbekistan in 2023. .....
