Jeddah: Ryunosuke Sato has his eyes set on winning the AFC U23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ to cap a campaign in which Japan have shown tremendous progress.

The midfielder helped a much-changed Japan side battle to a 1-0 win over Korea Republic in the semi-finals on Tuesday with the performance giving Sato plenty of confidence ahead of Saturday’s final against China PR.

Despite head coach Go Oiwa making five changes to his starting lineup from the quarter-final against Jordan, Japan rarely looked out of place with their dominance reaping rewards through Kaito Koizumi’s 36th minute strike. .....
