Team Introduction
Last December, the former player of the Holland National Team, Arie Haan became the coach of the China PR National Team.
As a member of the Holland National Team, Coach Haan finished in second place in the 1974 and 1978 FIFA World Cup and at his former club, Ajax, he was a magnificent stopper who manipulated the legendary "pressing football." The new coach came into his present position end of last December. To get a head start for the Qatar International Olympic Tournament, he inspected the practice match of the U-22 National Team which had been touring Europe. And on 28 Dec., he viewed the Catalonia (Spain) draft team versus China PR National Team match from the stands with his staff. He examined the potential of his new team.
His first match was against Brazil on 12 Feb., 2003. Against the Brazilian National Team consisting of best members such as Ronaldo, Ronadinho, and Rivaldo, his team drew 0-0. And he gained his first victory against Estonia on 16 Feb. These 2 matches have been well-praised, therefore, Coach Haan has been chosen as the most outstanding coach in February by the Asian Football Confederation. The China PR National Team team consists of players who have played in the FIFA World Cup last year, and together with the Athens Olympic generation players who have significant potential to rise to the top, the team is reinforced more than ever.
With the players having top class speed and pride, as well as skills, together with the refined strategy from Holland, China PR will certainly be aiming for the number one position in Asia.
