Message from the EAFF President

Dear Members of the EAFF,

East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) was established in 2002 for the harmony and promotion of East Asian Football.

Fast forward 16 years, we have witnessed EAFF evolve into a powerful regional Federation in Asia with unity and solidarity that has been evident throughout all 10 Member Associations. It is truly impressive the strides we have made together and it is important to sometimes remind ourselves of the distance that the EAFF has travelled in such a short space of time.

Looking back at our history and achievements, we should be very proud in meeting our key objectives that have seen us grow together significantly. From the steady rise in the level of football to hosting various important international football tournaments of all ages, each and every EAFF family member has contributed massively to our success.

In all aspects of life, learning holds the key to progression and football is no exception. From opponents on the field of play to spirit of fair play, we are learning about respect, consideration and competitiveness all at the same time. I am sure that the East Asian Football Family will continue to progress on the basis of these key aspects.

Regardless of our progression, we as a family still have many milestones to reach and I hope we can continue this journey of togetherness so that our collective goals will bear fruit in the quest to expand the influence and contribution of the EAFF in world football.

As the new President of the EAFF, I am keen to work together and cooperate with you all and I promise that my door will always be open to discuss the best possible ways to further promote East Asian football.

CHUNG Mong Gyu
President, East Asian Football Federation
