Message from the EAFF President

Dear Members of the EAFF,

East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) celebrates a momentous and significant milestone in reaching our 20th anniversary.

Over this time, we have witnessed growing success, which has seen us woven into the rich tapestry of Asian football. We have also endured unprecedented hardship, with the COVID-19 pandemic, which is still posing challenges for our great sport and everyone involved.

With everything that has passed, we should feel immense pride in the story we have written so far. The last few years have made us understand we must protect all the development the EAFF Family has already achieved.

However, at EAFF we see this as just the beginning. We look to the future in which we will grow stronger and prosper. Just like in the beautiful game that brings us all together, we cannot improve our position only by defending what we have, we must keep our eyes on the goal and as a team pushes forward.

At this moment Asia is the centre of the footballing world and East Asia is the most vibrant region on the planet. We have an unprecedented opportunity, in a spirit of cooperation, to unite behind the values that have led to East Asia's successes and elevate our region into a global centre of football.

As the new President of EAFF I seek to cooperate with all in the EAFF Family, to bring around harmonious development and write a new chapter in our illustrious organisation's story.

Here's to another 20 years.

H.E. DU Zhaocai
President, East Asian Football Federation
