December 17th, 2019 was a cloudy but warm day at Busan Gudeok Stadium. Today’s first game of the EAFF E-1 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2019 FINAL KOREA REPUBLIC was a women`s match pitting Chinese Taipei against a strong China PR team.
This match started with immediate hustle from both sides for possession of the ball . In the 11th minute, China PR forward WANG Shuang took a strong shot near the penalty area, but Chinese Taipei goalkeeper TSAI Ming-Jung was able to make the save.
In the 14th minute, Chinese Taipei`s CHEN Yen-Ping rushed into the penalty area, forcing the opposing China PR defender to match pace and quickly clear CHEN Yen-Ping`s ball. 3 minutes later, China PR`s TANG Jiali had a scoring opportunity, but missed the mark.
TANG Jiali had another great scoring chance in the penalty area during the 21st minute, but the ball went slightly wide of the goalpost. But in the 30th minute, China PR`s captain took advantage of a well-placed corner-kick to put in a header and score the first goal of the match, putting China PR up 1-0.
In the 45th minute, Chinese Taipei was aggressively attacking in the penalty area. Although close to the goal line, Chinese Taipei was unable to finish the job and remained behind on the board.
In to the second half, Chinese Taipei mounted a counterattack. They had an excellent opportunity off of A corner-kick, but the ball was cleared by China PR.
A few minutes later, China PR substitute LI Ying found herself with a golden opportunity in front of Chinese Taipei goalkeeper TSAI Ming-Jung, but TSAI was able to clear the ball immediately.
In the 63rd minute, Chinese Taipei`s CHEN Yen-Ping rushed the penalty area. But nerves caused her to fire off her shot too soon, causing the ball to go wide.
Chinese Taipei captain TING Chi had a great chance in the penalty area during the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar. 2 minutes later, TING Chi intercepted a China PR pass in the penalty area, but her shot missed the mark.
In the 83rd minute, China PR pressed an attack in the penalty area. They took several shots, but Chinese Taipei goalkeeper TSAI Ming-Jung saved them all over the course of a nail-biting 2 minutes.
In extra time, China PR made a few attacks in the penalty area. Two shots hit the crossbar, and China PR was unable to extend their lead. The match ended in a 1-0 China PR victory.
