The 2015 AFC Annual Awards Ceremony was held in New Delhi on Sunday, 29th November. The Hong Kong Football Association was named as the ‘Developing’ Member Association of the Year 2015. The President of HKFA, Mr. Timothy Fok attended the ceremony and collected the beautiful silver trophy on the Association’s behalf. The award recognizes both successes on the pitch but equally importantly the overall performance of the Member Association including the hosting and organisation of AFC competitions, participation in regional events and initiatives, football development activities and the strategic and operational management of the organisation. A panel of judges from the AFC awarded the accolade to the HKFA in recognition of the excellent work being done by the HKFA across all its disciplines including:

Mr. Mark Sutcliffe, CEO of Hong Kong Football Association, said, “The improvement in performance of the men’s senior team is perhaps the most tangible evidence of the positive progress being made in Hong Kong Football. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a huge amount of good work being done by the HKFA, much of it behind the scenes. This award has been earned by many people including the employees, the Board and Committee Members. I would like to thank them all for their dedication and hard work”.

Mr. Brian Leung, Chairman of Hong Kong Football Association, added, “I would like to thank the AFC for their encouragement and support. I would also like to pay tribute to our partners and stakeholders including the HK SAR Government, the HK Jockey Club, our Members and our many commercial partners. Without this support we would not be able to make this good progress or invest in football to the extent that we are now doing.” ....
