It was ultimately not enough to win them the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, but Son Heung-min's dramatic injury-time equaliser in the final against Australia has still been voted as the year's number one strike in South Korean football.

In what proved to be a memorable decider to the Asian Cup back in January, Son looked to have saved Korea Republic from defeat with his last-gasp effort, only for James Troisi to net in extra-time and hand the Socceroos a 2-1 win.

Despite ultimately missing out on what would have been a third crown, that goal is still remembered fondly among South Korean supporters.

According to the Korea Football Association, 40 per cent of fans in a survey of 2,242 voted Son's strike as the Goal of the Year.

Son, who was playing in Germany for Bayer Leverkusen at the time but has since joined English side Tottenham Hotpsur, also took out the Male Player of the Year award.

The fleet-footed attacker garnered 29.2 per cent of votes to finish ahead of national team captain and Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-yueng, who had 25.6 per cent of votes.....
