On October 20, Korea U-19 team led by An Iksoo lost to Saudi Arabia 2-1 in the AFC U-19 Championship group qualifying match. The match was held Bahrain national stadium located in Riffa.

Meanwhile, the host nation Bahrain beat Thailand 3-2. Korea, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia all had 6 points. But Korea went down to the third place as a goal difference and the most goal rules applied. The three team all had 0 of goal difference but Saudi Arabia and Bahrain score more goals than Korea. It meant that the two Middle Eastern teams were going to qualify leaving behind the young Taegeuk Warriors..

Coach An played 4-4-2 formation. Han Chanhee and ‘Cho Youngwook played in the up front. Kim Siwoo, Kim Geonung, .Park Hanbin and Lee Dongjun were in the midfield. Choe Ikjin, Woo Chanyang, Lee Seungmo and Lee Sangmin consisted of back four. Song Bumkeun stood in front of the goal.
