Coach Shin, the former manager of 2016 Olympic national team, led the U-23 Taegeuk Warriors to the quarterfinals in Rio.
Lee Yongsu, a director of?KFA?technical committee, said "We had 14 candidates and there was a profound discussion on this matter. At the end, there were two candidates and our decision was Shin. We called coach Shin and asked him to accept the offer. He readily agreed to take the role. Coach Jung is also a good coach and he proved himself in the Suwon Cup.
