Australia produced a stirring come-from-behind victory against AFC rivals China PR to win Group C, but were left to rue an earlier loss to Sweden – and the Algarve Cup’s unique format – as they were narrowly denied a place in Wednesday’s final.
The Matildas started confidently but – not for the first time in the tournament – were brought undone by a swift counter attacking-move, which saw Wang Shuang and Wang Shanshan combine to give China PR their first goal of the tournament, and a 1-0 lead on 36 minutes.....
