KFA decided to cancel a contract with Ulrich Steilike, the Coach of National Football Team under mutual agreement.
KFA held a technical committee meeting at NFC(National Football Center) in Paju, June 15 and canceled a contract with Coach Steilike. As a result, Coach Steilike, who started his post since September 2014 took down a baton of the National Team coach after serving 2 years and 9 months. Also Lee Yongsoo, a Chairman of the technical committee announced his intention to resign. The next coach will be decided when the new chairman of the technical committee is appointed.
"Since the appointment of Coach Steilike, we have continuously tried for the advancement of Korea football. However, we did not get the expected outcome in the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia and we decided to cancel the contract under the mutual agreement," said Chairman Lee at an interview after the meeting. He also added "I decided to resign from the Chairman of the technical committee because I didn't put all my efforts for a complete preparation while I had to drive the team. As a result, I admit that I'm responsible for not meeting the expected outcome.".....
