It is with great sadness to have learnt of the passing of former Asian Football Confederation General Secretary, Dato’ Peter Velappan. On behalf of East Asian Football Federation, I would like to convey our deepest sympathy and condolences to Dato’ Peter Velappan’s family and friends during this difficult time.

As an inspiring football administrator over the years, we all recognize Dato’ Peter Velappan’s commitment to stabilizing the AFC and growing the game in Asia during his time as the General Secretary of the AFC. I have no doubt his outstanding contribution has left a long-lasting legacy. His presence will be missed but not forgotten.

At this moment of loss, please know that his remarkable contribution to football will always be remembered.
