U-17日本代表は10月27日(日)、FIFA U-17ワールドカップブラジル2019のグループステージ初戦でU-17オランダ代表と対戦しました。日本は序盤こそ相手の攻勢に苦しめられましたが、粘り強い守りから徐々にペースを掴むと、FW若月大和選手（桐生第一高）の2得点などで合計3得点。相手の攻勢も最後まで跳ね返し、初戦を3-0の完勝で飾る最高のスタートを切りました。
