Hong Kong: Nagoya Grampus's narrow win over Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Saturday confirmed a third place finish in the 2020 J1 League and, at worst, qualification for the AFC Champions League play-off round. While earlier in the week, Gamba Osaka secured second place and an AFC Champions League group stage ticket.

In China PR, Shandong Luneng defeated Jiangsu FC in the FA Cup final to secure China PR's fourth and final place in the 2021 AFC Champions League alongside CSL winners Jiangsu, Beijing FC and Guangzhou Evergrande.
