The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) discussed with Hong Kong Football Association, and other four teams in the same group about the postponement of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 & Asian Cup China 2023 Joint Qualification Match through video conference. After the meeting, AFC decided that the matches including IR Iran vs. Hong Kong, Hong Kong vs. Iraq and Bahrain vs. Hong Kong previously scheduled in March 2021 is now re-scheduled to June 2021 during FIFA days. The matches would be held at centralized format. Match venues and date for the matches will be announced by AFC in due course.
