Korea Republic women’s national team claimed a goalless draw against the United States, who are currently ranked No1 in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
Colin Bell’s side drew 0-0 with USA at Children’s Mercy Park, Kansas City on Friday. Goalkeeper Yoon Younggeul stole the show with a series of fine saves against the hosts, who could not find a breakthrough against a well organised defence despite making 19 attempts on goal with eight shots on target.
It was Korea Republic’s second stalemate with USA in two years, since the 1-1 draw in the second match of a two-game friendly series in October 2019. USA’s 22-game winning streak at home since then came to an end with the result in Kansas. The second match of the series will take place in Allianz Field, Saint Paul, Minnesota on Wednesday. .....
