Seoul: Kim Sang-sik has resigned as head coach of two-time AFC Champions League™ winners Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors following the team’s poor start to the season, the K-League club announced on social media on Thursday.

Jeonbuk are currently 10th in the K-League standings following their 1-0 loss to Gangwon FC at the weekend with the nine-time domestic champions winning only three of their first 10 league games this season.

Kim took over as head coach in December 2020 after working as an assistant to previous coach Jose Morais and the former Korea Republic international defender led Jeonbuk to the K-League title the following season.
