Perth: The Philippines came from behind to defeat Chinese Taipei 4-1 while Australia cruised to a 2-0 win over Islamic Republic of Iran in their AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament - Asian Qualifiers Round 2 Group A fixtures at the Perth Rectangular Stadium on Thursday.

The win was a confidence booster for the Philippines ahead of their match against FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 semi-finalists Australia on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Hsu Yi-yun broke the deadlock in the 47th minute to put Chinese Taipei in front as they looked to exact revenge after losing to the Philippines in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 quarter-finals, a defeat which cost the East Asian side FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 qualification. .....
