Xiamen: DPR Korea booked their place in the third round of the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament - Asian Qualifiers after defeating Thailand 7-0 on Wednesday.

The win took DPR Korea to seven points in Group B of the qualifiers second round with their place confirmed after China PR and Korea Republic played to a 1-1 stalemate in the later match.

Korea Republic finished on five points with China PR one adrift with the group winners and the best-ranked runners-up advancing to Round 3, where they will battle in two pairs of home and away matches, with the victors of each tie filling the two berths on offer for the Asian Football Confederation at the 2024 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.

Thailand 0-7 DPR Korea

Having settled for a goalless draw with Korea Republic on Matchday Two, DPR Korea started on the front foot against Thailand with Sung Hyang-sim almost breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute when she combined well with Kim Kyong-yong before forcing Thailand keeper Tiffany Sornpao to parry her shot from just inside the box for a corner. .....
