Bali: DPR Korea showed why they are among the favourites to win the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 when they defeated Korea Republic 7-0 in their Group A opener at the Bali United Training Center on Monday.

Jon Il-Chong struck a hat-trick while Ho Kyong claimed two goals to steer DPR Korea to an emphatic victory ahead of their tie against hosts Indonesia on Matchday Two, while Korea Republic will be hoping to bounce back against the Philippines.

The three-time AFC U-16 Women’s Championship winners controlled the game from the get-go, with their first attempt coming in the fourth minute when Choe Il Son’s header from the centre went just past the left post. .....
