The visitors seemed a bit intimidated by the vociferous home crowd, as Hwang Heechan struggled to manoeuvre his way through the stubborn defence early in the first half. Despite his efforts to break into the left flank, the Wolverhampton marksman was brought down on 23 minutes to be stretchered off and replaced by Eom Jisung shortly afterwards.

It was an early blow for the visitors who struggled to find a breakthrough against the hosts’ solid defending. Lee Kangin and Lee Jaesung moved down to pull the strings from central midfield, before the latter rose to occasion against the run of play. On 38 minutes, Lee Myungjae’s cross from the left was received by Seol Youngwoo on the right, who turned around a defender to cross the ball into a crowded goalmouth. An unmarked Lee Jaesung rose highest to head the ball into the back of the net, as the Taegeuk Warriors took the lead.

However, the visitors were dealt another blow shortly after the interval, as Eom Jisung was pulled down on the edge of the area to be replaced by Bae Junho six minutes into the second half. Bae Junho and Lee Jaesung exchanged positions in midfield to create opportunities, whilst Oh Hyeongyu came off the bench to replace Joo Minkyu up front. .....
