The 28-year-old became the fifth Japanese winner of the prize at the Grand Peace Hall in Kyung Hee University, following in the footsteps of Homare Sawa, (2004, 2008), Natsuko Hara (2005), Aya Miyama (2011, 2012, 2015) and Saki Kumagai (2019).
Seike, who edged Australia’s Cortnee Vine and Korea Republic’s Kim Hye-ri to the honour, said via video message: “I am very happy to receive this prestigious award. I will continue to do my best for my club, the national team and to raise the value of Asian football.” .....
