The 34-year-old made the switch to bring an end to a two-year spell with Ulsan, during which time he scored 27 times in 69 K League matches and won back-to-back domestic league titles. It was his second stint with the club having spent a season there in 2019.
Joo, who made his international debut in March last year against Thailand and scored his first goal for the national team against Singapore in June, joins a Daejeon side that finished eighth in last year’s K League standings.
