The 17-year-old was not included by head coach Back Ki-tae’s in the starting 11 in their 1-0 loss to Indonesia in Group C, but made a superb tournament debut when he scored twice in the 6-0 defeat of Afghanistan in their second match.
His first goal, in the 17th minute, was the result of a surging run on the right that concluded with a stunning low shot that rocketed past keeper Hamid Amiri. His second in the 70th minute saw his first shot rebound off Amiri, but there was no mistake with his follow-up. .....
