March 7, 11am - On the 20th floor of the Korean Press Center, the Foundation of the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup Organizing Committee (hereafter the Organizing Committee) held it's first meeting with the executive committee. At today's first official meeting, the Organizing Committee established bylaws and elected members. Immediately after the general assembly, beginning at 1pm at the same location, the executive committee met to enact various provisions, as well as the 2016 business plan and budget.

KFA president Chung Monggyu led the organizing committee and said, "We earnestly begin preparations for the U-20 World Cup. We have about one year left to prepare well and show the world Korea's capability to host the event. It is necessary to have the competition stadiums prefectly prepared in order to be successful. I think the players who will compete are preparing well to get good results. Our country was successful at the 2002 World Cup. At the moment we don't need to invest much of the budget to infrastructure, and can still run an exemplary competition." President Chung emphasized that the tournament will look to make the most of the existing infrastructure as possible.

In 2017, South Korea will host the FIFA U-20 World Cup beginning on May 20 and running until June 11. 24 nations will participate after qualifying through regional tournaments. Matches will be held in six host cities: Daejeon, Suwon, Incheon, Jeonju, Jeju, and Cheonan. Directly or indirectly, approximately 9,000 people will participate in the tournament, with the organizing committee expecting one million visitors.....
