On November 15, Korean national team defeated Uzbekistan 2-1 in the final Asian qualifying round for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Nam Taehee and Koo Jacheol scored in the second half. Korea secured three wins and one draw with 10 points and pushed Uzbekistan to the third place.....

Korea started the match with an aggressive lineup. Lee Jeonghyeop played a sole striker up front and Son Heungmin and Ji Dongwon were on the both flanks. The captain Ki Sungyueng was the defensive midfielder.

Korea had difficulties in breaking Uzbekistan’s solid defense line. Uzbekistan drew back the line and stayed deep as the draw would be a fair result for them. Korea tried to a chance with Ki delivering long passes to Son and Ji. But Uzbekistan seemed to be prepared for such an approach.
