Hong Kong will kick-off its AFC Asian Cup 2019 qualifiers on Tuesday evening with an exciting Group B bout against Lebanon in Beirut, Lebanon.
Hong Kong is coming off a spirited World Cup qualifying campaign and an encouraging EAFF Championship qualifying tournament, which saw the side putting up some very impressive showings but came up just short of advancing to the next round. Despite the positive performances, Hong Kong head coach Kim Pan-gon has decided the time is right to look ahead towards the future, as the disciplinarian has injected some much-needed youth into a fast-aging squad by calling up several prospects for the game, including Tan Chun-lok, Wong Wai, Lee Ka-yiu and Wong Tsz-ho.
Looking ahead into Tuesday's game, Hong Kong should have no problem getting used to the playing conditions and the local climate, as the Far East side has reached the Middle East since last week and actually took part in an international friendly against Jordan earlier, hoping to get acclimatized to the Middle East surroundings. Preparations have been done to allow Hong Kong's finest to be in the best possible condition for this game and all eyes will be on Kim's troops to see whether they can shock the home side by coming up with a result on Tuesday night.....
