The final squad for the Taeguk players who will be playing in the last two games of the World Cup Asian Qualifiers are finalized.
Coach Shin Taeyong held a press conference at the KFA Center at Sinmunro on August 14 and finalized 26 players who will be playing in the 9th and 10th match of the World Cup Asian Qualifiers prior to the World Cup Russia 2018. The entry for the match is 23 players. However, Coach Shin selected 26 players first, and will opt out 3 players when submitting the final entry prior to the game.
The National Team will have the match against Iran at Seoul World Cup Stadium on August 31, 9 pm. Then the team will move to Uzbekistan to have another match against Uzbekistan at 12 am, September 6.
Lee Dongguk, who is also known as ‘lion king’ was included in the squad. Lee Dongguk returned to the National Team after 2 years and 10 months since the friendly match against Costa Rica in October 2014 which was held during the early time of Steilike, the former coach. If Lee Dongguk plays in the game against Iran, he will be playing at the age of 38 years and 124 days old and will be recorded as the second oldest player who played in the game in the history of A match. Currently, the oldest player who played in the game is Kim Yongshik, recorded with 39 years and 274 days old......
