East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) signed on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) on 31 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This agreement between the two regional football federations will deepen the mutual relationship and continuous cooperation for further development of football in both EAFF and WAFF.

EAFF President Mong Gyu Chung expressed his appreciation for this precious occasion of signing the MoU between EAFF and WAFF. “I am delighted by this partnership with West Asian Football Federation. The two regional federations have been leading Asian Football for the past years. We hope this agreement would not only further strengthen our long term friendship but also promote exchange on technical and professional areas, such as coach and referee education, as well as youth development.”

The MoU between EAFF and WAFF agrees on the cooperation with each other in the following areas:
1. Coaching, Referee and Youth Development exchange programmes
2. Sharing of football management & administration expertise
3. Facilitation and organization of international matches between WAFF and EAFF affiliated Member Associations.
