Chonburi: Korea Republic captain Kang Ji-woo has revealed that she was more than a little surprised when she scored within the first minute of her side’s Matchday One encounter with China PR at the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 on Monday.

Kang pounced to hand Hur Jung-jae’s charges an ideal start to the all-East Asian affair, before going on to seal a vital 2-1 victory with a second-half goal after China had initially drawn level through Han Xuan’s 34th minute effort.

Having shone brightly throughout the Group B encounter at Chonburi Stadium, Kang was clearly delighted with the win, even if she was somewhat shocked by the rapid nature of her opening strike......
