The East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) confirms that the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) will officially participate in the upcoming competition hosted in Korea Republic. This follows the recent withdrawal of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPR Korea) from the event, which opened a vacancy in the tournament lineup.
This decision was made during the 78th EAFF Executive Committee meeting, held on 30 March 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. During this meeting, EAFF members unanimously agreed to invite CTFA to take part, recognising their status as the runners-up of the Women’s EAFF E-1 Football Championship Preliminary Competition. This invitation aligns with the established Competition Regulations, which provide a framework for including alternative teams in the event of withdrawals.
The CTFA has consistently demonstrated excellence in women’s football, and their qualification as runners-up in the preliminary competition is a testament to their dedication and skill. The federation is eager to make a strong showing in Korea Republic, aiming to build on their previous successes and engage with fans across the region.
The upcoming competition promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and sportsmanship, bringing together teams from across East Asia. As preparations continue, further details regarding match schedules, venues, and ticketing information will be released in the due course.
