On August 16th the East Asian Federation held a 2008 East Asian Championship finals/ East Asian Women's Championship finals press conference at the site of the finals, Chongqing, China.
【Introduction】
East Asian Football Federation has been founded for five years. Meanwhile, the cooperation in East Asian football has been greatly strengthened and a notable improvement in football has also been observed in this region. After the successful organization of two East Asian Football Championships and one EAFF Women’s Championship, the 3rd EAFC Final and 2nd EWFC Final will take place in Chongqing, China in February of 2008. We are totally convinced that, with the cooperation among EAFF, CFA and LOC, this event will achieve a great hit.
The Preliminary Competitions of EAFC/EWFC2008 wound up this July. With the effective organization and diligent work of the FA of Macau-China, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands, the events turned out to be a great success. All the participants gained a good opportunity to exercise.
The Men’s National Team of DPR Korea and the Women’s National Team of Korea Republic were qualified for the Final Competition. I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the hard work of the Organizing Associations of the Preliminary Competitions. Also, I would like to congratulate all the teams participating in the Finals. I hope all of them can have good performance in the Final Competition in February, 2008.
As we all know, sustainable support from all parties is indispensable for the success of a sports event. Over the past years, we have attracted much attention and support from the Official Sponsors, TV companies and other media. I would like to send them my sincere gratitude and thanks. I hope that all of them can support East Asian Football, EAFF as well as EAFC/EWFC continuously.
Best wishes for this event
Xie Yalong
EAFF President
