South Korea 1-0 Thailand
March 30 - At the Suphachalasai Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the South Korea national team defeated Thailand 1-0 in a friendly match. Korea scored early in the 5' through Suk Hyunjun, and then protected their lead until the end.
This win extended Korea's record of victories with a clean sheet to 8 straight matches dating back to the Laos match last September 3. This record had previously been held jointly by Ham Hongcheol's 1978 team as well as Lee Hoetaek's 1989 team at 7 matches. With the wins clean sheets over Lebanon (3.24) and now Thailand, coach Stielike's side now stands alone in first-place with 8 straight.
Coach Stielike's side also has the most successive clean sheets in a row in history. Going back to the August match at the East Asian Cup against North Korea (0-0 draw), Korea has recorded 9 straight clean sheets. The previous record was held by coach Ham Honggi's 1970 team with 8 straight clean sheets. Coach Stielike's side had equalled the record with the clean sheet against Lebanon (3.24), and now they stand alone in first-place.....
