Korea Republic was successful to get qualified for the World Cup Finals 9 times in a row.

Korea National Football Team led by Coach Shin Taeyong recorded a tie against Uzbekistan 0-0 in the 10th round of the Asian Qualifiers Final Round for the 2018 Russia World Cup, which was held at Bunyodkor Stadium, Tashkent on September 5, 12 pm (Korea Time). A match between Iran and Syria which was held at the same time was ended up 2-2. Therefore, Korea confirmed 2nd ranking in Group A with 15 score as the final winning score. It is a qualification for the World Cup Finals for the 9 times in a row since the Mexico World Cup in 1986. Iran ranked 1st with a winning score of 22, Syria recorded 3rd with a winning score of 13.

Coach Shin used 3-4-3 formation which was close to a variation of back three at the match against Uzbekistan. He posted Son Heungmin (Tottenham), Hwang Heechan (Zalsburg), Lee Keunho (Gangwon) at the final frontier while positioned Kim Minwoo (Suwon), Kwon Changhoon (Dijon), Jung Wooyoung (Chongqing), Go Yohan (Seoul) at center. At the back. Kim Younggwon (Guangzhou Evergrande), Jang Hyunsoo (Tokyo) and Kim Minjae (Jeonbuk) stood together. The goalkeeper's gloves were in Kim Seunggyu(Vissel Kobe)'s hands.

Korea showed unstable flow until middle of the first half. The team played offense very enthusiastically but there were few mistakes while playing one to one and allowed Uzbekistan counterattack opportunity. Korea had a good mobility at the beginning of first half but had an unfavorable position against Uzbekistan as time passed. Particularly, forward pass was not smooth. Offense players such as Hwang Heechan and Son Heungmin played vigorously and there was also overlapping of fullback. However such attack was not able to continued up to the frontier.....
