Hong Kong hosted Bahrain on Thursday evening for an exciting international friendly match. The home side put up a great fight but conceded late, dropping an 0:2 decision against the visiting Bahrain.
Hong Kong came up with a great scoring chance on the 6th minute, when Jorge Tarres sent a low cross into the Bahrain box. The ball was half-heartedly cleared away by a Bahrain defender. Wong Wai pulled the trigger on a thunderous shot but was denied by a great save from Sayed Hashem. Daniel Cancela pounced on the rebound but blasted the ball high.
Moments later, it was Hong Kong once again. This time, Jorge Tarres produced another great cross from the right side. Jaimes Mckee got on the rebound, unleashed a cheeky backheel but saw his effort hit a Bahrain defender and went out of play.
On the 9th minute, Bahrain nearly opened the score. Sayed Shubbar launched a low drive towards the Hong Kong goal but was pushed away by Hong Kong keeper Yapp Hung-fai. Mahdi Abduljabbar went for the tasty rebound but surprisingly fired the ball wide. The home side certainly dodged a bullet on the occasion.....
